Free Backup Service from BackupMyBlog Beta version
I got this idea from BloggerDesign’s “Bloggers Get Hacked”. He suggested on his “How do you backup a blog?” that there is, besides of the fact that you should do it yourself using the Wordpress Database Backup Manager plugin, another service at Backupmyblog.com offers backup any MySQL based blog.
So … here is my first attempt on BackupMyBlog.
To Backup
- Create an account. Easy step.
- Choose Setup Wizard as the prefer method so it can automatically discover type of your blogging but it asks for FTP information. If this hold you down a bit. You can change to Manual Setup.
- Manual Setup need MySQL Settings information e.g. Username, Password, etc.
- Download “backupmyblog-config.php” and upload it to your web root directory.
- You’ll get “backupmyblog.php” which need to be put on your web root directory.
- Press the “After installing the client and entering the blog URL continue on the the final step”
- Provide Table Prefix and press “All done! Continue on to your manage your account”
- Waiting for a verification email.
- You’re all set.
